The accelerated class will allow expanded curriculum opportunities. Students will be able to take higher-level science courses such as Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy and Advanced Placement Biology during their high school tenure should they choose to do so. The grade for this class will be included on the high school transcript and will be used for computing rank in class the same as if the course were taken in grade 9. However, students will still have to take three required science classes at the high school level.
Integrated Science I for High School Credit at the eighth grade level is more difficult than the regular eighth grade science curriculum. Earning a high school credit will require much more effort and determination by the student. There will be a probationary period for all students who take Integrated Science I. After the probationary period, evaluation to determine placement will continue throughout the year as needed.
