On Dec. 18, 2015 the 3rd Grade Class of Hopkins performed a Holiday Musical called "Elfis Goes West With Lewis And Clark" by Teresa Jennings.  It is a Christmas Adventure  Play based upon historical figures in which Santa and Elfis (Elvis) comes in to save day with the power of music. When verbal language fails music is used to communicate between Lewis and Clark and the Native Americans.  The play was performed at 9:00am in the newly renovated June and Ward Correll Auditorium at Somerset High School. The play is a 4 week drama unit project in which the students learn about:

Elements of Drama. Elements of Music, Elements of Art, Set and Prop Construction, Discoveries of Lewis and Clark....all through stage performance.

This was truly a team effort.  There were many behind the scenes people who helped to make this show a success.  Here are a few:

Parents, Teacher Aides, School Public Relations Rep., Teachers, Guest Reader, Computer Department, Audience Program Design, Cooperation between High School and Hopkins Principals for Rehearsals and Performance., Sound and Light techs from SHS.

After the play a Guest Reader came to read the story "Twas The Night Before Christmas".  Then the audience had a group sing along.
