Long time University of Louisville commit Kade Grundy officially signed with the Cards on Wednesday night in a ceremony with friends, family and former coaches. Kade will enroll at U of L next year and be a member of the Cardinals baseball team which is a NCAA Division 1 member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
On Wednesday another member of the Briar Jumper baseball team made his choice for the next level when Jon Phipps made his pledge to attend Ohio University. Jon will join the Bobcats baseball team which competes as a NCAA Division 1 member of the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC).
On Friday afternoon the scene shifted to the track as Kendell Burgess completed her paperwork to make her a member of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Kendall will join the track and field program at Notre Dame which competes at the NCAA Division 1 level as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
To finish the flurry of Briar Jumper signing for the week Emma Hawk made official her pledge to attend Lindsey Wilson College. Emma will be joining the Blue Raiders as a member of the softball program. Lindsey Wilson is a member of the NAIA Class D and competes in the Mid-South Conference (MSC).
After a one-week statewide hiatus the football season will resume with the opening round of the playoffs. The Briar Jumpers will begin defense of their state title by hosting the Danville Admirals on Clark Field Friday Nov. 20th at 7:30 pm. Somerset defeated the Ads in Danville on Oct. 9th by a score of 42-3.
