Congratulations to Brian Blankenship

Somerset High School is pleased to announce Mr. Brian Blankenship as the new Carnegie Academy headmaster at Somerset High School.

"I would like to thank the Somerset Independent School board, Mr. Lively, and Mr. Wesley for this exciting opportunity to help young people reach their full potential.  Andrew Carnegie himself saw greatness in Somerset Schools in 1905 by funding a new library.  Based on this history, the Carnegie Academy was founded on four of his pillars: Initiative, Enthusiasm, Imagination, and Purpose.  My goal as Headmaster is to ensure these four ideas are a beacon to students who want to think, who want to grow, who want to be more.  They will be able to take dual-credit and AP classes, as well as complete a Capstone Project.  The Carnegie Academy will allow motivated students to experience a challenging collegiate setting, focused on a liberal arts approach to higher learning.  I have the best occupation in the world: I get to help prepare young people for success—both educationally and personally.  What a truly amazing occupation!"
