Avera Accepted to Craft Academy

SHS sophomore, Harrison “Tate” Avera, has been accepted into the Craft Academy at Morehead State University. The Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics is a dual-credit residential high school for academically exceptional Kentucky students. The Academy is housed on the campus of Morehead State University, consistently ranked as one of the safest campuses in Kentucky and the southeast. The college-level curriculum will allow students to finish high school while simultaneously completing a minimum of 60 college hours. The residential college experience and environment promotes excellence, innovation and creativity while developing the students’ full potential. Students will live on campus in a newly renovated residence hall designed for high school-aged students. The facility will have meeting and social space and will be staffed 24/7. The cost of tuition, room and meal plan (19 meals per week) are covered by the Academy. Students are responsible for textbooks, any additional meals, and personal or miscellaneous expenses. The Craft Academy accepts 60 new students each year.
