The Project Purple Initiative empowers youth to stand up and make a difference. Going Purple gives students’ motivation and support as they embrace a message of education and awareness. Students learn that they do not need drugs and alcohol to meet life’s challenges; that they are perfect the way they are. The Somerset High School Project Purple Club sponsored “Project Purple Week” to bring an anti-drug message to all the students at SHS. Each day had a different dress up theme and also the morning and afternoon announcements were filled with drug facts and education. At the end of the week, students had the chance to participate in inflatables during their elective class. We hope that by educating the student’s on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, they will make smart choices when they are faced with the decision that include drugs and alcohol.
