Summer Food Service Program
Meals in the Summer Food Service Program are free to all children who have not had their 19th birthday. The dates of the program are June 3-July 26, 2013, excluding July 4-5.

Mills Named Commonwealth Journal 2012 Female Athlete of the Year

Maranda Mills is proof of that.
Despite being only a freshman, Mills had a stellar 2012 calendar year, as she had quite a bit of success on the basketball court, as well as, on the track and field circuit.

SHS Coach Steve Wallace Named Commonwealth Journal Coach of the Year
Steve Wallace has been a busy man this year.
He started out the year as an assistant Briar Jumper boys basketball coach. After that, he coached both the boys and girls varsity track teams in the spring. During the summer months, and into the fall season, he coached the Somerset boys varsity soccer team. Following Friday’s horrific school shootings in Connecticut, a number of organizations have posted online resources for parents and educators talking to children. KSBA(Kentucky School Boards Association) has pulled together multiple resources that may assist with this process.
