Community Readers Celebrate with the Students at HES

Hundreds of Hopkins Elementary School children filed into school on Friday, March 1, 2013 anxious to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and to kick off Read Across America Day, the nation's largest reading celebration! This day highlights the importance of developing a love for reading.

More than twenty members of our Community were instrumental in sharing the importance of reading as they donated their time to read to a classroom at Hopkins.  After reading, they gathered in the library for breakfast. Later, The Cat in the Hat and the Grinch made a surprise visit. WOW! What a marvelous day for everyone!

The students were allowed to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters.
