Former UK Basketball STARS Josh Harrelson and Jeff Sheppard graced Hopkins Elementary with a Motivational Rally on December 1, 2011. Hopkins was ready for the UK players with students and staff decked out in Blue and White - sporting their own representation of the Big Blue Nation.

The athletes shared a timely message, applicable for all present - the need to DREAM.
Mr. Sheppard relayed the points for the DREAM speech:

D - Do Things the Right Way
R - Readiness for All Things
E - Energy: Putting Energy Toward the Right Things
A - Attitude: Having a Winning Attitude
M - Minds: Take the Opportunity Now to Develop Your Minds

Students enjoyed talking with the players, getting their pictures made, and having posters/ basketballs signed by the UK stars. Before departing, the players made time to high-five or shake the hands of each student, adding a key element to any dream - one-on-one encouragement.
