First Lady Jane Beshear and Elijah Davidson.

Forward in the Fifth & Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative held a Reading Recovery Discussion and Debriefing Meeting at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, Kentucky.

Mr. Lonnie Lawson, President & CEO of The Center for Rural Development, welcomed those in attendance.

Jim Tackett, Executive Director for Forward in the Fifth, directed the meeting.

Elijah read to First Lady Jane Beshear and 25 - 30 attendees. Several Reading Recovery Leaders/teachers were present - including Elijah's Reading Recovery Teacher - Mrs. Gina Wilson. As Elijah read the book the pages were projected onto a large screen for those in attendance to view. He wowed the audience as he read the book Ratty-Tatty. They gave him a standing ovation!

Elijah is a first grade student at Hopkins Elementary School. His classroom teacher is Mrs. Molly Mounce.
