HANDS-ON SUMMER TRAINING FOR SCHOOL NUTRITION PROFESSIONALS

 

This summer, the Kentucky Department of Education’s Division of School and Community Nutrition (SCN) is collaborating with the Institute of Child Nutrition (ICN) to offer 11 sessions of Healthy Cuisine for Kids to school nutrition professionals across the state.

Let me take this opportunity to address the issue of school safety, which is on all our minds.

School will be in session on Feburary 19, 2018

Somerset Independent School District original calendar listed February 19 as a celebration of President's Day with the option of using it as a make-up date if necessary.

Somerset Independent will be in session for students on February 19, 2018 to make up for one of the days missed for inclement weather.

Please mark your calendar and make any necessary adjustments for this schedule change.

LOUISVILLE, KY May 25, 2017- Students of Somerset Independent Schools have raised $4,845.57 to help fund blood cancer research and provide help and hope to thousands of patients and their families through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients program.

2018 Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award Ms. Beasley Meece Middles School Teacher

The Kentucky Department of Education announced last week that Mrs. Jenny Beasley, 7th grade English Language Arts teacher at Meece Middle School, was selected as one of the recipients for the 2018 Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award and a finalist for the 2018 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award.
